Buying Cars from Panamá

In General, everything is cheaper in Panamá - until you try to bring it into Costa Rica!

Panamá doesn’t have the high import taxes that Costa Rica has, especially on cars. Don’t think that TLC (The Free Trade Agreement CAFTA) will change the cost of cars in Costa Rica as

1. It is phased in over 10 years and

2. The tax on cars is excluded from the TLC.

But, Panamá is the place to go to buy certain cars.
