Good Attorneys and Bad Attorneys
Attorneys, like People come in All Flavors. Unfortunately you generally don’t know which flavor you have until it’s too late.
My general guidelines are:
- Avoid the attorney your agent wants you to use. He or she is generally working for the agent, not for you.
- In Grecia, be very leery of the bilingual attorneys located near the corner of the central park. One is the favorite attorney of the One Bad Agent.
- Try to use an attorney from another area to avoid the hidden conflict of interest problems that exist.
- If you are bilingual, ask Ticos for their recommendations and consider using an attorney that only speaks Spanish. We do.
